A glimpse at Scholastic’s attempt to novelize video games

I'm a little too young to remember Scholastic's video game novelizations appearing in book order pamphlets, but I have seen the amazing Worlds of Power books in the wild. The Retroist recently ran a story on the Castlevania II novelization:

I picked this book up in a secondhand shop when I was 11. It's very simplistic and emphasizes a more non-violent story compared to the completely nonsensical plot to Castlevania II.
